Players Can Once Again Take Part in Battlefield 6 Development Through Battlefield Labs

The initial phase of testing for new content is already underway.

Battlefield Studios has officially confirmed the return of Battlefield Labs — a series of closed playtests intended to help polish upcoming updates for Battlefield 6.

The first wave of tests kicked off on December 2 and is available on PC only. A limited group of players received early access to content that is scheduled to go live on servers on December 9.

Going forward, tests will be divided into two formats:

  • Scheduled sessions — for evaluating experimental updates.
  • Short “surprise” sessions — for rapid feedback on pivotal gameplay changes.

The developers say they plan to run bolder experiments: reworked map layouts, adjustments to match pacing, alternative team compositions (for example, fewer players or a stronger emphasis on vehicles), new maps and modes, mechanic prototypes, and an expanded array of seasonal content.
