Following the new Street Fighter adaptation, Noah Centineo is reportedly preparing to join a film based on another iconic Japanese franchise.
Legendary Pictures is developing a live-action version of the seminal anime Mobile Suit Gundam, and Noah Centineo may be joining the cast.
According to Deadline, the star of The Recruit is in talks to appear in the forthcoming Gundam adaptation, for which Sydney Sweeney has already been cast in the lead female role.
The film is being directed by Jim Mickle, who previously worked on Netflix’s series Sweet Tooth: The Boy with the Deer Antlers. Mickle also serves as screenwriter and producer on the project, which Legendary is co-producing with Bandai Namco Filmworks, the owner of the original franchise.
Plot details remain tightly guarded, though insiders have suggested the movie will take a Romeo-and-Juliet–style approach set within Gundam’s brutal universe. Principal photography is expected to begin in early 2026.
For Centineo, this would be his second consecutive collaboration with Legendary: he recently wrapped the Street Fighter adaptation, which is slated for release on October 16, 2026. He is also preparing to film a Rambo prequel being developed by Lionsgate.
