Pearl Jam have been named the Record Store Day 2019 Ambassadors. They observe in a line of artists selected by RSD organizers every year to characterize the occasion; previous acts embrace Run the Jewels (2018), St. Vincent (2017), Metallica (2016), and extra.
“Pearl Jam is honored to be Record Store Day’s Ambassador for 2019. Independent record stores are hugely important to me, and have been ever since I was 12 years-old,” guitarist Mike McCready mentioned in a press release. “Before I even really knew what they were—there was a certain feeling of ‘this is a dream come true,’ and it’s a wonderland and there’s so much to learn in here… and it’s still that way.”
RSD 2019 takes place on April 13, 2019. Last month, Jack White (one other former RSD Ambassador) announced that the Raconteurs would launch a particular 3″ single on Record Store Day. Pearl Jam’s most up-to-date album Lightning Bolt was launched in 2013.
