Payday 2 Complete Edition “Accidentally” Jumped $50 Amid DLC Subscription Launch — Starbreeze Responds to Upset Players

A wide array of expansions has been released for the game. You can now obtain temporary access to them for a modest price.

Payday 2’s developers recently launched a subscription for additional content. For a relatively small fee, players can gain temporary access to cosmetic items, an expanded arsenal and a variety of heists.

Earlier this month, the Payday 2 edition that includes the full Infamous Collection DLC saw its price increase by $50. Because many players already own the game and its DLC in their libraries, the change initially drew little attention — but with the subscription now introduced, questions have been raised about Starbreeze Studios. Some have speculated the adjustment was intended to steer users toward purchasing the subscription.

The developers said the price change was a mistake and that they have reverted the cost to its previous level ($118):

“We reviewed feedback regarding the price change to the Infamous Collection earlier this month and conducted an investigation. Prices have been restored to their original amount, and we apologize for this error.”
