Paul Dano to Star in New Project from the Director of “The Father” and “The Son”
Paul Dano, best known for his work in There Will Be Blood, has joined the thriller Bunker from Oscar-winning writer‑director Florian Zeller (The Father, The Son). Variety reports the casting news.
Earlier the project had attached Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz. The story centers on an architect (Bardem) commissioned by a billionaire to build a bunker for an anticipated apocalypse, while the architect’s wife (Cruz) reassesses their 17‑year marriage.
The cast also includes Patrick Schwarzenegger and Stephen Graham. No official release date has been announced. This fall Dano appeared in Olivier Assayas’s The Kremlin Wizard.
Last week the actor drew criticism from Quentin Tarantino: the Pulp Fiction director called Dano “unremarkable” and “the worst actor in SAG (the largest actors’ union in Hollywood — ed.).”
