Paramount and Warner Bros. Merger Officially Completed
Media outlets have confirmed the finalization of a massive merger between two Hollywood titans, Paramount and Warner Bros. The newly formed entity will operate under the banner of Skydance.
Today marks a historic milestone, not just for Skydance, but for the entire entertainment industry,
— stated David Ellison, the conglomerate’s CEO.
The transaction was valued at $111 billion. While Netflix had initially expressed interest in acquiring Warner Bros., they ultimately opted against pursuing the deal.
Skydance is projected to produce over 30 films annually, with expected yearly revenues reaching $70 billion. However, the company is also absorbing a significant debt load totaling $80 billion.
The integration also brings major streaming platforms HBO Max and Paramount+ under the Skydance umbrella, alongside networks such as CNN, CBS, Nickelodeon, and MTV.
