Painkiller creators have their own “Tarkov” — evacuation shooter Lost Rift launches on Steam

Escape from Tarkov continues to inspire other developers.

A new Tarkov-like title has recently appeared on Steam. This entry comes from People Can Fly, the studio known for Painkiller and Bulletstorm.

The project, called Lost Rift, adopts familiar genre staples — extraction mechanics and the permanent loss of carried loot upon death.

The game is billed as an action-driven, first-person survival shooter that combines cooperative PvE base-building with PvPvE modes where only those who survive keep their spoils.

Players can explore the archipelago alone or in squads of up to five. Expeditions send teams to volatile islands where precious resources await discovery.
