Given the sheer density of blockbuster titles crowding the final weeks of September, Capcom has strategically pivoted the release schedule for Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Originally slated for a September 25 debut, the title has been pulled forward to the very beginning of the month.
Players can now jump into the action on September 4—a full three weeks ahead of the previous target. While this new date places it in close proximity to The Blood of Dawnwalker (arriving September 3), the shift is a welcome reprieve from its original slot, which would have forced it to compete for attention alongside heavy hitters like Control Resonant and Silent Hill: Townfall.
Our hands-on time with Onimusha: Way of the Sword has been consistently promising, particularly regarding the fluid, modernized evolution of the franchise’s iconic combat systems. Prepare for the journey when Onimusha: Way of the Sword launches on September 4 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
