EB Games — one of the largest retailers of games, consoles, and accessories in Australia and New Zealand — has removed the Xbox logo from its official website and begun pulling Microsoft consoles from store displays.
Reddit users worry Microsoft might be withdrawing from the console market, and many say the signs are starting to echo the decline of the Sega Dreamcast.
The Dreamcast’s ending looked strikingly similar: rumours, widespread multiplatform ports, emptied warehouses, and virtually no marketing. The only notable difference now is that Microsoft has teamed up with AMD to build the chip for its next console — the specifications of which reportedly leaked online.
