Okko Premieres “Noon” Series Based on Strugatsky Brothers’ Work
The detective series “Noon,” an adaptation based on the Strugatsky brothers’ seminal novel *Beetle in the Anthill*, has officially launched on KION and Okko. The ensemble cast features Yury Kolokolnikov, Maxim Matveev, Yulia Snigir, Leonid Yarmolnik, Sofya Sinitsyna, and Evgeny Sangadzhiev.
Set in the year 2278, the narrative follows Rudolf Sikorski (Leonid Yarmolnik) as he tasks Maxim Kammerer (Yury Kolokolnikov) with locating Lev Abalkin (Maxim Matveev), a “progressionist” who has returned to Earth ahead of schedule following his mission on the planet Nadezhda. The investigation pulls the protagonists into a profound mystery surrounding the enigmatic “Wanderers” super-civilization and a potential existential threat to humanity.
Although *Beetle in the Anthill* was first published in 1979, it had never previously received a full-scale screen adaptation. “Noon” marks the very first time the classic work has been brought to life for viewers.
Directed by Klim Kozinsky, the screenplay was crafted by Artem Baryshnikov, Kozinsky, and Marusya Trubnikova. The series is scheduled for a future broadcast on the TNT television channel.
