Odessa Young and Connor Swindells Receive Awards at Cannes

Odessa A’zion, star of “Marty Supreme,” and “Sex Education” breakout Connor Swindells have been honored with the prestigious Chopard Trophy, recognizing them as the standout talents of the new generation.

For nearly three decades, the company has crafted the festival’s iconic Palme d’Or trophies. This year, the awards were presented to A’zion and Swindells by Isabelle Huppert. The esteemed actress, who graced the red carpet earlier for her role in Asghar Farhadi’s “Parallel Histories,” presided over the ceremony.

Reflecting on her win, A’zion described her arrival at Cannes to accept the accolade as both “surreal and mind-blowing.”

This is my first time here, and I’m honestly not sure why you chose me, but I am incredibly grateful. I’m surrounded by so many actors I truly admire, and this whole experience is just amazing,

she shared. Swindells took a poignant moment to dedicate his award to his mother, who passed away years ago.

She didn’t get to see who I’ve become, but I constantly feel her presence in my life,

he added. The Cannes Film Festival runs through May 23.
