Nomura reconsidering simultaneous worldwide releases over Kingdom Hearts Three leaks

Kingdom Hearts Three director, Tetsuya Nomura, has stated he’s reconsidering simultaneous worldwide launch dates for his games sooner or later.

Speaking in an interview with Famitsu, and translated by Siliconera, Nomura’s feeling stem from the December Kingdom Hearts 3 leaks.

According to Nomura, whereas it might have appeared “massive quantities” of the game leaked forward of time, it was really solely 4 copies and from a single supply.

Still, that was sufficient to fret him, as he didn’t need spoilers ruining the expertise for followers. Going ahead, he’s prefer to see a staggered launch for his games going ahead. This would come with the subsequent game within the pipeline, Final Fantasy 7.

“The only thing that really disappointed me about everything, is that it brought sad thoughts to people who were looking forward to Kingdom Hearts 3,” he advised Famitsu.

“The risk is higher with simultaneous worldwide releases, and because of this incident, I can’t help but reconsider what I’ll do for my next games – including simultaneous worldwide releases of physical copies at the very least.”

Many Japanese games have already got staggered launch dates. Some by a number of days, others by months or typically years. In the case of Kingdom Hearts 3, the game releases in Japan tomorrow, January 25. The remainder of world has to attend till January 29.
