Earlier this week, it was widely reported that Trent Reznor mentioned to a live performance viewers in Texas that he advised Senator Ted Cruz to “fuck off” following the politician’s alleged request for a visitor listing spot to the Nine Inch Nails present. Reznor went on to speak about how Cruz had attended a earlier NIN present years in the past, and the way he “drank all the beer and was just a pain in the ass to be around.”
Now, Cruz has taken to Twitter to make clear that Reznor’s feedback had been in jest, opposite to the media protection. “Uh, no, NIN is not my music taste. He was clearly joking,” he wrote. “And for the record, I also didn’t ‘drink all his beer’ the last time…but I would have!”
