Earlier this week, it was widely reported that Trent Reznor said to a concert audience in Texas that he told Senator Ted Cruz to “fuck off” following the politician’s alleged request for a guest list spot to the Nine Inch Nails show. Reznor went on to talk about how Cruz had attended a previous NIN show years ago, and how he “drank all the beer and was just a pain in the ass to be around.”
Now, Cruz has taken to Twitter to clarify that Reznor’s comments were in jest, contrary to the media coverage. “Uh, no, NIN is not my music taste. He was clearly joking,” he wrote. “And for the record, I also didn’t ‘drink all his beer’ the last time...but I would have!”
