A week ago, the planned full presentation of the Nintendo Switch 2 took place. According to rumors, the launch lineup of the new hybrid console is expected to include RDR 2 and even GTA 5. The statement by the head of Take-Two fueled significant optimism. However, neither game was confirmed.
The creators of NS2 admitted that they almost named their next creation Super Nintendo Switch. But they abandoned this idea because, at one time (1980-90s), it was not possible to run games from the original Nintendo Entertainment System on SNES consoles. In this case, it is possible — almost everything that was released on the first console will be available on Nintendo Switch 2. There are a little over a hundred titles that are currently problematic, but they might eventually be resolved. Importantly, L.A. Noire, GTA: Trilogy — Definitive Edition, and Red Dead Redemption (with Undead Nightmare) are not on that list, meaning Rockstar fans will find plenty to do while waiting for the flagship releases.
The hottest topic surrounding Nintendo Switch 2 is its pricing policy. Not only do the Japanese want a substantial amount for the novelty (450 dollars, 469 euros, or 396 pounds sterling), but also, on the same day as the presentation, the President of the USA, Donald Trump, announced new tariffs on goods imported from other countries. Due to this, the possibility to pre-order NS2 in the States (and beyond) has been delayed, and the price may increase further.
