Nintendo Showcases New Map for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Nintendo has revealed a new official world map for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, maintaining the familiar structure of Hyrule while giving it a more fairy-tale aesthetic.

The new map resembles hand-drawn fantasy maps from classic books and stories. At the same time, the placement of key locations remains virtually unchanged compared to the original Nintendo 64 release.

Hyrule Field remains in the center, surrounded by Hyrule Castle, Kokiri Forest, Lost Woods, Lake Hylia, Gerudo Valley, Death Mountain, Zora’s Domain, and Lon Lon Ranch.

This is important because the remake does not feature a complete overhaul of the world. Nintendo rebuilt the game from a technical standpoint on a new engine while preserving many elements of the original design, including location layout and positioning.
