Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser Resigns
He will be succeeded by industry veteran Devon Pritchard.
Nintendo has announced that President and Chief Operating Officer of Nintendo of America Doug Bowser will retire on December 31, 2025, after more than a decade in various senior leadership roles.
His successor will be Devon Pritchard, a 19-year veteran of the games industry and a long-standing member of Nintendo of America’s leadership team. Pritchard will also join the company’s board of directors and assume an Executive Officer role at Nintendo Co. Additionally, Satoru Shibata — Managing Executive Officer and board member of Nintendo Co. — will take on the position of Chief Executive Officer of Nintendo of America while retaining his current responsibilities.
I am honored and excited to step into this new role. Doug has been an exceptional mentor, and I look forward to building on the remarkable foundation he helped create. My aim is to continue strengthening Nintendo’s legacy—delighting long-time fans while welcoming new players into the Nintendo family.
