Nicolas Cage and Antonio Banderas to Star in Season Five of “True Detective”
HBO has officially confirmed its lead actors for the fifth season of the anthology series True Detective: Nicolas Cage and Antonio Banderas will headline the cast.
The new episodes will unfold on Long Island, New York, though plot details are being kept under wraps. Issa López, who developed the fourth season, subtitled Night Country, returns as creator. Production is set to begin in 2027.
True Detective will mark the first time Cage and Banderas have worked together. Cage recently appeared in the series Spider-Noir, while Banderas was most recently seen in A24’s biopic Tony.
