Although Swift frames “Wood” around superstitions like knocking on wood, the song’s innuendo-heavy imagery has led many listeners to interpret the lyrics as referencing fiancé Travis Kelce. Offerman called the track “a great song” and expressed admiration for Swift’s creativity.

When Jason Kelce teased Travis about lines in the song that point to a very specific kind of metaphor, Travis demurred and kept the conversation playful, suggesting listeners should interpret the piece for themselves.
