Next Game from the Developers of It Takes Two Will Be “Absolutely Incredible”

Since Split Fiction launched in 2025, fans have been speculating about Hazelight’s next move. Development on a new title is already underway, but it’s still uncertain whether it will be a continuation of It Takes Two or an entirely new project.

Hazelight has a habit of keeping details tightly guarded until the final stages — the same pattern occurred with Split Fiction, which was only fully unveiled at the end of 2024 and released in spring 2025.

In a recent interview, game director Josef Fares confirmed the studio is working on something “astonishing,” promising “an entirely new level of experience” — so fresh that even members of the Hazelight team don’t yet know all the details.

“My God. If I could tell… We’re building something incredible right now, but what comes next — even my team doesn’t fully know yet — it’s genuinely a new level of experience.”

He added:

“There’s so much left to explore. I’d love to see more games adopt the cooperative approach Hazelight has championed. Players enjoy it, and we’ve only begun to unlock its potential. The chemistry between two players — whether sitting together on a couch or connected online as they experience the story side by side — creates something unique. I’m really inspired by a project we have in the works, and there’s plenty of room for experimentation. I wish I could share more, but that’s the nature of the industry.”
