Whether you’re hunting for a miniature version of your companion Sarah Morgan, legendary figures like the Freestar Collective’s Daniel Blake, or infamous outlaws like Jasper Kryx, there is a wealth of history waiting to be discovered and displayed.
For those who prefer their collections to exist beyond the digital realm, a selection of these figures will also be produced as physical merchandise later this year. Dive into the details below.
In-Game Collectible Mechanics
The Settled Systems are now home to 27 unique Colony War Action Figures. Since each comes in both a “mint” sealed version and an unsealed version, there are 54 total items to track down. Beyond the thrill of the hunt, these figures grant permanent gameplay modifiers once acquired.
Notable buffs include:
- Commander Sarah Morgan: Accelerates affinity gains with Sarah.
- UC Marine: Grants a 5% damage increase to all laser-based weaponry.
- Terrormorph: Provides a 5% chance to inflict a fear state on enemies, causing them to flee.
- Jasper Kryx: Boosts damage dealt to UC and Freestar Collective NPCs by 10%.
- Major Paxton Hull: Reduces incoming damage from robotic units by 10%—essential for surviving Terran Armada skirmishes.
The moment you pocket a figure, its respective bonus is applied to your character permanently. Note that these effects do not stack; acquiring both the sealed and unsealed versions of the same character will only trigger the buff once. You’ll need to keep a sharp eye on your surroundings, as many are tucked away in the far reaches of the galaxy.
True curators can maximize their gains by utilizing new outpost furniture. Special display units—including the United Colonies Rack, Freestar Collective Rack, Deep Space Dangers Rack, and the comprehensive Full Collection Rack—are designed for sealed figures. For those who prefer an “opened” look, the Playset furniture is available for unsealed items.
Completing these sets at your outpost unlocks secondary character bonuses. Once a display is built, you can interact with it to see which specific figures are missing from your set and which rewards are currently active.
If you aren’t interested in the display bonuses, these figures are highly liquid assets. You can sell them to vendors for a significant credit boost while retaining the permanent buff from the initial pickup. Just remember: collectors pay a premium for sealed packaging!
