New PS5 Firmware Update Reportedly Causes Sound Issues for Pulse Elite Headset

A new firmware update for PS5 accessories has caused issues with Pulse Elite wireless headphones and the PlayStation Link adapter, leading players to encounter connection drops and missing audio.

Sony released an update for PS5 accessories without any prior announcements. The company did not publish a list of changes, and users began widely reporting failures shortly after installing it.

The Pulse Elite headphones unexpectedly disconnect from the console, game audio cuts out, and establishing a stable connection again fails. The cause turned out to be a synchronization glitch between the headphones and the USB PlayStation Link adapter.

The community has found a temporary workaround for the issue. Users need to connect the Pulse Elite to the console via a USB-C cable, open accessory settings, go to the general section, and select PlayStation Link device support. Afterward, users must manually start the adapter firmware update, which eliminates the conflict and restores the connection.
