I am a hero too spotlights Eri, the granddaughter of the Shie Hassaikai leader, whose life was forever changed after Izuku Midoriya (Deku) intervened during the series’ fourth season. Her history is marked by deep trauma, having been exploited by Overhaul, who weaponized her unique “Rewind” Quirk to manufacture drug-based inhibitors.

Following her rescue by Deku and Lemillion, Eri has spent her time under the protection of U.A. High, slowly recovering from her harrowing past. In this short story, we see a more mature Eri, now a student who harbors a passion for music. Under the guidance of Kyoka Jiro, she organizes a street performance as a gesture of gratitude toward the heroes who saved her. It is a quiet, character-driven piece that offers a gentle emotional resolution rather than high-stakes combat.

The “More” special was a sweeping look at the future, showing us the heroes eight years later and confirming that their sacrifices truly secured a lasting peace. It proved that Studio Bones could prioritize character growth and tender moments—such as the quiet intimacy between Deku and Ochaco—over pure, explosive action.

In contrast, I am a hero too is an intimate, smaller-scale vignette. Based on a brief five-page bonus chapter, it serves as a sweet post-script to the main story. It validates Eri’s autonomy, allowing her to finally embrace a childhood denied to her. By honoring the song “Hero Too,” the short brings her personal development full circle, transforming a victim of circumstance into a young woman finding her own voice and purpose.
