New ‘Mafia’: A Historian’s Review and Introduction to the Family Today at 23:30 OPla G10

For a game set over a century ago, historical accuracy and authenticity are crucial. To ensure this, Professor John Dickie, an expert on the Cosa Nostra, was consulted. After reviewing the video materials of “Mafia: The Old Country,” the expert praised the game, highlighting the authenticity of the initiation scene, the protagonist’s believable past as a miner, and other detailed depictions. He noted only one significant error: the presence of a volcano in the western part of Sicily, where the mafia originated, instead of the east, attributing this to artistic license.

The latest Monday exclusive offers a more detailed look at the main characters who are part of the Family.

  • Enzo Favara (protagonist) — a carusu who has labored hard in a sulfur mine since childhood. Seizing the opportunity to escape, he joins the Torrisi crime family and becomes its loyal soldier.
  • Don Bernardo Torrisi — head of the clan. Rising from humble beginnings after his father lost their farm due to debts, he has made his way in the criminal world, becoming a successful businessman both legally and illegally.
  • Isabella Torrisi — the Don’s daughter, dreaming of freedom and escaping her father’s watchful eye.
  • Luca — the boss’s right-hand man. He recognized Enzo’s potential as new blood for the organization. Often in disagreement with Tino on business matters.
  • Cesare — the Don’s nephew, eager to join the Family but pushed away by its members. After meeting, he befriends Enzo.
  • Tino — the consigliere who favors violent solutions, leading to conflicts with the more diplomatic Luca. He is distrustful of Enzo.
