New Footage of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past to Debut at Gamescom Opening Night Live

In case you missed the initial low-profile announcement a few months back, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is receiving an unexpected new expansion, marking a return to the Continent over a decade after the game’s original launch. Titled Songs of the Past, details remain scarce, though we know it is being co-developed alongside Fool’s Theory—the team currently steering the Witcher 1 remake. The expansion is slated for a 2027 release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Today, CD Projekt Red confirmed that we will get our first substantial look at the title during the Gamescom Opening Night Live showcase on August 25.

Hosted in Cologne, Germany, by Geoff Keighley, Opening Night Live has established itself as a premier global gaming event. The broadcast is scheduled for August 25 at 11 a.m. PT / 2 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. CEST, allowing fans worldwide to tune in for the reveal.
