New exploit found for hacking PlayStation 5 via YouTube app

Technology enthusiasts are continually exploring different techniques to compromise PS5 consoles.

Recently, a developer who goes by the handle Gezine unveiled a new method aimed at jailbreaking the PlayStation 5. The exploit in development is called Y2JB (short for YouTube Jailbreak).

At the core of this approach is the YouTube application—used as an attack vector to gain initial access to the system. The idea appears promising because the app is likely to be compatible with many PS5 firmware versions.

Gezine noted that the required YouTube version is “01.000.003”, and the exploit also depends on a new Itemzflow from another developer (which has not yet been released). Work on Y2JB is ongoing.
