TheWrap has named Netflix the top buyer in the Warner Bros. sale, reporting that the service submitted the highest offer.
Spokespeople for both parties have declined to comment. The streaming giant is participating in the auction alongside Paramount and other major studios.
The precise sum has not been disclosed. Sources say Netflix plans to fund the purchase in cash. If successful, the company has pledged to continue releasing the studio’s films in theaters.
