Streaming giant Netflix has officially pulled the plug on “The Abandons” after just one season, according to reports from Deadline.
The series was headlined by industry veterans Gillian Anderson (The X-Files) and Lena Headey (Game of Thrones). Set against the rugged backdrop of 1850s Oregon, the narrative explored the bloody confrontation between rival clans fighting for survival.
Despite the high-profile involvement of creator Kurt Sutter (Sons of Anarchy), “The Abandons” failed to resonate with critics following its December 4 premiere. The show debuted to a lackluster 30% score on Rotten Tomatoes, likely sealing its fate at the streamer.
