New content is being developed for the cubic sandbox.
The developers held a Minecraft Live presentation and revealed details about the Mounts of Mayhem update.
The game will introduce the Nautilus — a new underwater mob that can be tamed and used as a mount. Its special ability stops oxygen from depleting (though it does not restore your oxygen supply). Players will also be able to outfit the creature with armor.
After many years, zombie horses will finally appear in Survival mode: they will spawn in savannas and plains; the creatures themselves are passive, but they may carry hostile riders.
A spear was unveiled — usable both on foot and while mounted. It offers two attack types: a piercing jab and a heavy strike capable of knocking a rider off their mount.
No release date has been announced yet for the Mounts of Mayhem update.
