And in her brand-new W Magazine cover tale released Monday (June 3), the “Flowers” vocalist opened concerning exactly how her yearslong relationship with Queen Bey indirectly motivated their choice to collaborate on the nation-Western duet. “I wrote that song, like, two and a half years ago,” she stated of “II Most Wanted,” which came to a head atNo 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 inApril “When Beyoncé reached out to me about music, I thought of it right away because it really encompasses our relationship.”
“I told her, ‘We don’t have to get country; we are country. We’ve been country,’” she proceeded. “Getting to write a song, not just sing, for Beyoncé was a dream come true.”

Cyrus included that she’s been limited with the “Texas Hold ‘Em” vocalist given that they both took part in a 2008 efficiency for Stand Up to Cancer along with Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey and extra women celebrities. “I was sandwiched between Beyoncé and Rihanna,” she remembered, keeping in mind that she was simply 14 at the time. “They were protective of me.”
