Microsoft Announces Minecraft Release Date for Switch 2

Minecraft will launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 on October 27, 2026, featuring the Vibrant Visuals graphic mode, Microsoft announced.

Microsoft continues bringing its games to the Nintendo Switch 2. Following The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on August 11, Diablo 4, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Minecraft now has a release date.

The company confirmed that Minecraft will arrive on the Nintendo Switch 2 on October 27, 2026.

Owners of Minecraft on the original Nintendo Switch will receive a digital upgrade path. Details will be shared in the coming weeks, but this likely refers to a discounted or free upgrade to the new console version.

Microsoft also reported that the game on the Switch 2 will use the Vibrant Visuals graphic mode by default. The only exception will be split-screen mode, where this feature will not be available.
