Academy Award nominee and X-Men star Michael Fassbender is reportedly in negotiations to join the upcoming project “The Brutalist” director Brady Corbet, titled “The Phoenician Scheme.” According to Variety, this casting news marks a significant collaboration.
The narrative is set to span multiple eras, stretching from the 19th century through the present day, with a primary focus on the 1970s. Corbet has described the film as a genre-defying exploration of American mysticism and cults. Selena Gomez is also attached to the project.
Fassbender will soon appear on the big screen in Na Hong-jin’s sci-fi thriller “Hope,” which is set to premiere in competition at the Cannes Film Festival. Additionally, he is currently working on the Netflix series “The Agency,” which centers on the iconic Kennedy dynasty.
