Miami Prepares for GTA 6 Marketing

The proposed GTA 6 marketing campaign in Miami-Dade County, proposed by mayor administration, extends beyond an AI-generated presentation. It has been considered at a higher level while the first promotional installations are set up. This effort operates independently of any agreement between local authorities and the developer.

Miami Beach City Commission

Local law enforcement officials have spoken out against the project, but it maintains supporters.

Damian Padro, Miami’s District 2 commissioner, supported promoting Grand Theft Auto VI and proposed several measures. He recommended allocating advertising space reserved for major sporting events such as the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Miami Formula 1 Grand Prix, and the Super Bowl. Six such locations would be used, each covering 929 square meters, and all would require approval from the local homeowners’ association (HOA). The campaign would run from October 15 through the end of the year. He requested $202,000 for each placement and proposed allocating the $1.212 million in proceeds to improvements at Upperdeck Park — Edward T. Graham Heritage Trail.

Padro pushed for the matter to be brought before the Miami Beach City Commission, where commissioners divided on the issue.

Opponents argued that the campaign would damage the city’s image and that its reputation should not be sacrificed. To support their position, they showed footage from GTA 5 and GTA VI Trailers depicting crimes. They also emphasized that no concrete proposal with detailed terms was on the table.

Supporters argued that the opportunity should not be missed, estimating it could generate as much as $4 million. Some supporters were experienced gamers who rejected the idea that video games cause violence. The promotion would not necessarily be obvious in every location. For example, the VI logo and the words Vice City could appear on Boucher Brothers beach umbrellas. The game itself features a parody of the company called Sol Sisters.

The vote ended with 4 in favor and 3 against.

Kaseya Center Sports Complex

City officials decided whether to pursue a partnership that Take-Two and Rockstar Games may not have proposed, yet a Grand Theft Auto 6 marketing campaign is about to begin in Miami.

The Kaseya Center sports complex, which has an in-game counterpart called Sahara Arena, is set to receive a Welcome To VI sign. The corresponding letters have been spotted on the grounds of the home arena of the Miami Heat basketball team.
