Megan Thee Stallion Is Giving One Lucky College Student a Full-Ride Scholarship

Megan Thee Stallion is making one college student’s dreams come true by offering a full-tuition, four-year scholarship.

The 26-year-old rapper is offering the scholarship to a student at the Roc Nation School of Music, Sports and Entertainment at Long Island University, which Jay-Z’s entertainment company announced in August 2020. The school will host its inaugural semester in fall 2021, and 25% of the incoming freshmen class will receive Roc Nation Hope Scholarships.

“Getting an education is incredibly important to me,” the “Savage” artist said in a press statement. “I still have academic goals that I want to achieve, so if I can use my resources to open doors and create opportunities for at least one student, then it’s a victory. It’s important that we encourage our students to pursue their passions and put them in positions to become the next game changer in whichever fields they choose.”

The Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment offers undergraduate degrees in music, music technology, entrepreneurship and production, and sports management. In May, acclaimed R&B/hip-hop producer 9th Wonder joined the faculty as a visiting professor and artist in residence, where he teaches courses in hip-hop history and the making of an album.

The Roc Nation signee will also participate in LIU’s “Industry Expert Speaker Series,” where she will impart her words of wisdom about the industry to enrolled students at the Roc Nation School. Megan relates to the students on another note: The three-time Grammy winner is currently studying health care administration at Texas Southern University and plans to use her college degree to open and manage assisted-living facilities in her hometown of Houston.

She’s previously launched the Don’t Stop Scholarship Fund, named after her collaboration with Young Thug, in October 2020, which awarded two women of color pursuing an associate, bachelor or postgraduate degree in any field with $10,000 scholarships each.

Interested students can apply for Megan Thee Stallion’s scholarship here. The deadline to apply is July 15.
