Marvel Tokon Fighting Game Tournament Moves to PS5 Following PC Version Issues

The technical state of the game on PC is drawing outrage.

MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls recently launched on PC and PlayStation 5. Sony Interactive Entertainment and PlayStation Publishing serve as the publisher, while Arc System Works, known for the Guilty Gear fighting game franchise, is the developer.

The PC version on Steam attracted player attention at launch with a peak concurrency exceeding 24,000 users, but its initial reviews are mixed, holding a 43% rating after more than 3,000 reviews. Complaints stem from technical issues, the requirement for PSN services, and the Easy Anti-Cheat system, which blocks startup on Linux via Proton.

Due to the problems with the PC version, the organizers of a MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls tournament decided to change the format of the event.

Representatives from Tampa Never Sleeps announced that participants will be required to play exclusively on consoles:

To ensure a more positive and comfortable gaming experience for players, our MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls tournament will be played exclusively on PlayStation 5. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your support!

Some participants in the discussion joked that this is a clever “Sony plan” to promote the PlayStation 5.
