Marvel Reportedly Shut Down Donald Glover’s “Deadpool”

Earlier this 12 months, it was introduced that Donald and Stephen Glover’s pending animated “Deadpool” TV series for FX had been axed, and that the community, Marvel, and the Glovers had parted methods. Shortly thereafter, Glover leaked 15 pages of a script from the present, whereas stating, “For the record: I wasn’t too busy to work on ‘Deadpool.’” Now, FX CEO John Landgraf has revealed in a brand new interview with Variety that the choice to half methods on the collection got here from not FX, however Marvel.
When requested if there was any likelihood of reviving the collection with Glover and Marvel, Landgraf replied, “No. I think that Marvel will revive it, because they have the rights… They didn’t want to do the show that Donald and Stephen [Glover] wrote. We would have done [the] show that Donald and Stephen wrote, but it wasn’t our decision. When Marvel decided not to do that show, we parted company with them as did Donald and Stephen.”
