Marvel in talks with Tom Cruise for a role in ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’, insider claims
The Marvel Cinematic Universe may soon add another major star to its roster.
Marvel insider MyTimeToShineHello reports that Marvel Studios is currently negotiating with Tom Cruise for a role in Avengers: Secret Wars. The source does not specify which character he might play.
Speculation surrounding Cruise and Marvel has persisted for years. Before the release of Iron Man, studio executives considered the actor for the role of Tony Stark, which eventually went to Robert Downey Jr.
Rumors later surfaced during the production of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness that Kevin Feige wanted Cruise to appear as an alternate version of Iron Man. That appearance never happened, reportedly due to the actor’s busy schedule.
With Robert Downey Jr. shifting to the role of Doctor Doom, Marvel has a clear opening to introduce a different version of Tony Stark. Whether the studio secures the casting remains uncertain, so treat these reports with caution.
The studio continues to pursue high-profile talent for upcoming projects. MyTimeToShineHello previously claimed Marvel entered talks with Brad Pitt and Rebecca Ferguson for major roles, though the studio has yet to confirm these reports.
Avengers: Doomsday arrives on December 18, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.
