Acclaimed actress Kate Winslet has provided a fresh update on the potential return of the hit series *Mare of Easttown*, hinting at when a second season might finally move forward.
“There is a strong possibility that filming could take place sometime in 2027,” Winslet revealed during a recent conversation with Deadline.
Originally debuting on HBO in 2021, *Mare of Easttown* was initially intended to be a limited series. The plot follows a small-town Pennsylvania detective who attempts to solve a local murder case while simultaneously managing the complex struggles of her personal life and family.
Winslet’s transformative performance earned her both Emmy and Golden Globe awards. Beyond her acting work, the star recently made her directorial debut with the drama *Goodbye, June*, which premiered on Netflix in late December.
