Madonna’s ‘I Feel So Free’ Released After Surprise Coachella Performance With Sabrina Carpenter

The Queen of Pop has officially graced streaming platforms with her latest single, “I Feel So Free.”

Following its debut on iHeartRadio’s Pride channel this past Friday (April 17), the track made its wide release at midnight. The launch comes on the heels of Madonna’s electrifying surprise guest spot during Sabrina Carpenter’s headlining performance at Coachella.

Alongside the digital release, fans can immerse themselves in a hypnotic new visualizer available on YouTube.

Opening with a signature spoken-word delivery, Madonna reflects on the dichotomy of fame and artistry: “Thanks for coming. Sometimes I like to just hide in the shadows / Create a new persona / A different identity / I can be whoever I want to be… But out here on the dance floor, I feel so free.”

Musically, “I Feel So Free” is a high-energy dance anthem that pays homage to the pulsating house rhythms of the 1989 classic “French Kiss” by Lil Louis. It acts as a sonic bridge to her 2005 landmark album, Confessions on a Dance Floor, capturing a similar late-night, electro-pop euphoria found in tracks like “Future Lovers.”

This single serves as a tantalizing precursor to her highly anticipated follow-up project, Confessions II. Reconnecting with Stuart Price—the mastermind behind the original Confessions and the creative force behind her acclaimed 2023–2024 Celebration Tour—Madonna is poised to reclaim the dance floor. The upcoming album is set to feature 16 tracks and represents her first major collection since 2019’s Madame X, marking a new chapter following her return to Warner Records in 2025.

Confessions II is scheduled for release on July 3.
