Lizzo Shares Flute Version of “Golden” After KPop Demon Hunters Earns Grammy Nods
By Billboard • November 8, 2025

KPop Demon Hunters appears poised for major Grammy attention, and Lizzo celebrated by posting an elegant flute rendition of the soundtrack’s biggest single, “Golden.” Her short clip spotlights the song’s melody played on her beloved Sasha Flute with a rich string arrangement provided by the Australian Pop Quartet.
On Saturday, November 8, 2025, Lizzo uploaded an Instagram video in which she performs a classical-leaning take on “Golden,” the runaway hit that spent eight weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100. In her caption she labeled the clip “GOLDEN (Sasha’s version),” referencing the nickname she’s given her flute.
The post coincided with the Recording Academy’s announcement of next year’s nominations: KPop Demon Hunters received four nominations overall, with “Golden” itself earning recognition in three categories — Song of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Song Written for Visual Media.
Audrey Nuna, one of the vocalists behind the fictional group HUNTR/X from the project, told Billboard that the cast is overwhelmed and grateful. She described the moment as surreal and historic, saying the team feels honored to be part of something they longed to see when they were younger.
Lizzo is no stranger to the Grammys: she first took home multiple awards in 2019 — including Best Pop Solo Performance for “Truth Hurts” — and later won Record of the Year in 2023 for “About Damn Time.”
Outside of this tribute, Lizzo has been exploring new creative directions. She released the rap mixtape My Face Hurts From Smiling in June and has postponed the previously planned album Love in Real Life, explaining to New York magazine in September that her artistic priorities and perspective have shifted.
