Light within the Attic to Release Japanese “City Pop” Compilation

Light in the Attic has introduced a brand new compilation known as Pacific Breeze: Japanese City Pop, AOR & Boogie 1976-1986. According to the label, the document marks the “first-ever fully authorized overview of Japan’s ‘city pop’ genre outside of Japan.” The 16-track compilation options cowl artwork by Japanese artist Hiroshi Nagai, who has contributed cowl paintings for a lot of traditional metropolis pop albums of the 1980s. The songs on Pacific Breeze have by no means been formally launched exterior of Japan till now. The compiliation options music by Hitomi Tohyama, Minako Yoshida, Haruomi Hosono, Yukihiro Takahashi, and extra. Light within the Attic will launch deluxe bundles of the compilation, which can embody a printed seaside towel, liner notes, a customized die-cut obi card, and extra.
