Lies of P Creator Promises Sequel Will Not Disappoint Players

The developers of Lies of P shared insights into their approach to game creation and asked fans to remain patient.

Lies of P director Jiwon Choi shared his initial expectations for the sequel. According to him, the developers aim to make the new game not only engaging but also capable of evoking deep emotions in players:

“The next project we are working on will be truly interesting and, hopefully, touch you deeply. We are doing our absolute best to make it as good as possible. Therefore, please wait just a little longer. You will not be disappointed. This is the truth, and not a lie.”
Jiwon Choi

The developer discussed this in the documentary film Games by Gamers, which focuses on the internal culture of the Nough studio, a Round8 division that worked on Lies of P. The team’s name originates from the expression “not enough,” but without the first letter. According to the developers, it reflects their attitude toward game development:

“It is never enough for us. There is always room to grow, so during development we constantly improve the games, because they can always be made better.”
Jiwon Choi

One of Nough’s main principles is the concept of “games by gamers.” Jiwon Choi believes that the audience can sense how seriously the developers treated their project:

“Players always feel that. As a gamer, I know they can tell when a game is created with genuine dedication. That is why, during development, we always look at the game from the players’ perspective first.”
Jiwon Choi

The team regularly conducts joint playtests where staff members play through the game alongside Choi and evaluate its structure. The feedback they gather forms the basis for subsequent iterations:

“We are gamers first and developers second. That is why we constantly test and refine the game without compromise until every team member is truly satisfied with the result.”
Jiwon Choi

The Lies of P sequel is already in active production. Neowiz previously reported that the team is working on a vertical slice, which is a version meant to demonstrate the core mechanics, visual style, and general direction of the sequel.

The plot, platforms, and release window for the new installment have not been disclosed yet. The original Lies of P was released in 2023 and received the Overture story expansion in 2025. Sales of the game have exceeded 3 million copies.
