A brand new documentary about Leonard Cohen and Marianne Ihlen’s love story will premiere on the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. It’s known as Marianne & Leonard: Words of Love, and it’s directed by Nick Broomfield. Ihlen is the inspiration behind a few of Cohen’s most well-known work, together with “Bird on a Wire” and “So Long, Marianne.” Days earlier than Ihlen died in 2016, Cohen sent her a letter saying, “I think I will follow you very soon.” Cohen died 4 months later.
Sundance will even host the world premieres of documentaries about David Crosby and Miles Davis. David Crosby: Remember My Name is directed by A.J. Eaton and co-produced by Cameron Crowe. Miles Davis: Birth of the Cool is directed by Stanley Nelson. See the list of films coming to Sundance.
