Laika Studios, the visionary team behind Coraline, has officially announced the theatrical debut of their latest stop-motion endeavor, Wildwood. The film is slated to arrive in international cinemas on October 23, 2026.
Based on the acclaimed novel by Colin Meloy, the story follows 12-year-old Portland resident Prue McKeel. Her life takes a perilous turn when a murder of crows abducts her younger brother, forcing her to venture into a forbidden, untamed wilderness on a daring rescue mission.
The production boasts an impressive voice cast, including Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Jacob Tremblay, Angela Bassett, Carey Mulligan, Mahershala Ali, Awkwafina, Tom Waits, and Richard E. Grant. Travis Knight, known for his work on Kubo and the Two Strings and Bumblebee, is at the helm as director.
