As a part of Kesha’s ongoing legal fight with Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald, Lady Gaga’s full deposition was unsealed in courtroom on January 29, The Blast reports. In the beforehand blacked out transcript of the September 12, 2017 deposition, seen by Pitchfork, Gaga repeatedly defended Kesha whereas answering questions posed by Gottwald’s authorized staff.

When requested to substantiate that she has “no personal knowledge or information” about Gottwald’s bodily relationship with Kesha, Gaga responded, “Yes, I do have knowledge.” When requested to make clear, Gaga answered, “She told me that he assaulted her.” When requested for additional details to help that assertion, Gaga replied, “Well, you know—when men assault women, they don’t invite people over to watch.”
Gaga continued, “And when this happens in this industry, it is kept extremely secret, and it is compounded by contracts and manipulative power scenarios that actually include this very situation that we are all in right now.”
Gottwald’s lawyer then requested Gaga if she believed there’s “never been a false accusation of rape.” Gaga responded, “You—how about all of the women that are accused of being liars and how she was slut shamed in front of the world, how about that?”
When Gottwald’s lawyer once more pressed her for “any factual knowledge” about what occurred between Kesha and Gottwald, Gaga replied:
Oh, I’ve factual information of her melancholy. I’ve factual information of her want for help and love. I’ve factual information of the spiral that I watched that lady go down. I’ve factual information of trauma. I’m knowledgeable and clever about this problem. That lady has skilled severe trauma and he or she is in the midst of it proper now.
