Last 12 months, L7 launched a pre-order marketing campaign for his or her first new album since 1999 and promised a February 2019 launch. Today, on the ultimate day of February, they’ve detailed that new album and shared a brand new tune. Watch the Courtney and Hillary Andujar-directed video for “Burn Baby” under. “Burn Baby” is the lead single from Scatter the Rats, which is about to come back out May three by way of Joan Jett’s Blackheart Records. L7 recorded Scatter the Rats with producers Norm Block and Nick Launay at Happy Ending Studios and Sunset Sound in Los Angeles. The band’s Donita Sparks stated of the title, “There were a couple of rats in the basement of the studio, where all the amplifiers were, and at one point Norm said to us, ‘Let’s get rockin’, we can scatter the rats.’”
In 2017, L7 returned with their first new tune in 18 years, “Dispatch From Mar-a-Lago.” In 2016, they have been the topics of a Sarah Price-directed documentary, Pretend We’re Dead.
