Kim Kardashian Praises ‘Super Talented’ Taylor Swift, Admits She Still Listens to Her Music

In a surprising turn of events, Kim Kardashian shared an unexpected revelation regarding her musical tastes during a recent appearance on her sister’s podcast, Khloé in Wonderland. During the Wednesday episode, the conversation pivoted to the pop culture icon’s listening habits, sparking a candid discussion about her former rival.
“Do you think the public would be shocked to find out that you actually listen to Taylor Swift?” Khloé Kardashian inquired.
Kim was quick to affirm her appreciation for the singer’s work. “I think I’ve mentioned it before,” she replied. “I definitely have some of her older tracks on my playlist. I’ve always viewed her as an incredibly talented and exceptional artist.”
This admission is particularly noteworthy given the highly publicized and tumultuous history between Kardashian, her former husband Ye (Kanye West), and Swift. The friction dates back to the infamous 2009 VMAs, which eventually spiraled into a 2016 controversy involving a leaked, edited phone call regarding the lyrics to Ye’s track “Famous.” While a full version of the conversation surfaced in 2020—effectively vindicating Swift—the fallout had already left a lasting impact on the singer’s life and career.
Reflecting on that dark period during her 2023 TIME Person of the Year interview, Swift described the ordeal as a “manufactured frame job.” She noted that the psychological toll was immense, stating, “Make no mistake — my career was taken away from me. It took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before.” She specifically highlighted the role of the illegally recorded and edited call in damaging her reputation and trust in others.
The tension resurfaced musically in April 2024 with the release of Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology. The track “thanK you aIMee,” with its strategic capitalization spelling out “KIM,” was widely interpreted as a commentary on the feud. Swift later fueled the fire by releasing a live version titled “thank You aimEe,” which shifted the focus to “YE.”
Despite the years of friction, Kardashian’s latest comments suggest a level of professional respect for Swift’s enduring discography. You can watch the full segment from Khloé in Wonderland below:
