British actress Jodie Comer, celebrated for her roles in Killing Eve and 28 Years Later, has been tapped to star in the upcoming HBO project The Chain. The limited series is being developed by Damon Lindelof, the visionary creator behind Lost and Watchmen.
Based on Adrian McKinty’s acclaimed novel of the same name, the series features Comer as Rachel, a suburban mother thrust into a nightmare when her daughter is abducted. Her captors are not driven by financial gain; instead, they are part of a sinister organization known as “The Chain,” which forces its victims to navigate harrowing, often impossible moral dilemmas. Driven by desperation, Rachel will stop at nothing to secure her child’s freedom.
While an official release date for The Chain has yet to be announced, fans can look forward to seeing Comer soon in The Death of Robin Hood. Meanwhile, Lindelof is currently busy working on the highly anticipated comic book adaptation, Lanterns.
