Kevin Federline, who has recently made a string of provocative assertions regarding Britney Spears, reserved particularly sharp criticism for her former husband Sam Asghari during a new interview.
The remarks follow a comment Asghari made to TMZ, in which he called Federline a “professional father.” Federline responded to the jab on Entertainment Tonight, offering blunt assessments of Asghari’s role in Spears’ life.
“I have a hard time even having any kind of respect for Sam, because what type of man gets involved in a situation like the one he got himself into with her?” Federline said. He added, “When me and Britney were together, he was probably 10 or 12 years old, so he doesn’t understand where the roots of this thing are.”
Federline — who shares two sons with Spears — also questioned Asghari’s perspective on fatherhood: “I’m still looking at him as a man, and you’re judging me as a father, and you’ve never had kids.”
The comments arrive as excerpts from Federline’s forthcoming memoir, You Thought You Knew, have circulated. In passages reported by major outlets, the former dancer and actor wrote that he is alarmed about what he perceives as Spears’ declining well-being.
“The truth is, this situation with Britney feels like it’s racing toward something irreversible… From where I sit, the clock is ticking, and we’re getting close to the 11th hour.”
Spears’ representatives pushed back, telling Billboard that Federline appears to be using the book to “profit” from her. Spears herself addressed the situation on Instagram, calling the repeated attacks “extremely hurtful and exhausting.”
In a post dated Oct. 15, 2025, Spears wrote that she has “always pleaded and screamed to have a life with my boys,” noting the complexity of relationships with teenage children and expressing that she has felt demoralized by the entire situation.
