Variety reports that a new biting class satire titled The Worst is currently in development. Two-time Oscar nominee Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean) is set to headline the production.
The star-studded ensemble includes Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina), Jamie Dornan (Belfast), and Erin Kellyman (28 Years Later). The film will serve as the directorial debut for Simon Woods.
The plot centers on socialite Emily Fisher (Vikander), who invites her affluent inner circle to celebrate at her newly acquired French chateau. The guest list features the provocative Holly (Knightley) and the cunning talent agent Danny (Dornan). As the night unfolds, the group’s polished veneers crack to reveal dark, long-buried secrets, leaving a young waitress named Niamh (Kellyman) to navigate the ensuing social wreckage.
While a theatrical release date has not yet been established, Knightley will soon be seen in the upcoming Netflix thriller The Woman in Cabin 10.
